While MetaMask is compatible with any ERC-20 token, it doesn’t automatically include every new token that gets released. That means if you don’t see a token on your account page you’ll have to manually add it. Here’s a simple guide you can follow.
- Open your browser.
- Visit CoinGecko.
- Search for your custom token.
- Copy the token contract address.
- Switch back to MetaMask.
- Click “Import Tokens” and then paste the contract address. MetaMask will automatically add the token symbol.
- Select “Import” and your token will now be visible.
Copy the token contract address
Head to CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko and search for your token. Once you get to the token page, go ahead and copy the contract address.
Click on ‘Import Tokens’
After copying the contract address, switch back over to MetaMask and select the “Import tokens” option.
Paste the contract address
Once you select “Add Custom Token” and then “Import Tokens”, it will now appear with the rest of your tokens. Congratulations, you’ve successfully learned how to add a custom token to MetaMask!
